Sticks & Stones...

When we were kids we used to say this stupid, smart alec saying...
Sticks & Stones may break my bones,
But words will never hurt me!

I think we learned that really early to learn that people would say alot of things to hurt us through the years. As for me, I'm sick of being told I'm fat, being threatened & all the hurtful lies being told to me. Lately, I've been being told SO many lies about Scott.

Honestly, I do not want to hear about Scott - he is a part of my past that I'm trying to get over. I know when they are lies because even though we were separated for almost a year, I still knew what he was doing. As a matter of fact, I still know what he is doing... LOL. I also know that he is marrying his gold-digger on 11/11 in Austin. But the real truth is, I don't care!!! I'm just glad it's not me because he will eventually change & be abusive & cheat on her too.

I'm sick of being told how we've hung on to our little family all these years... what family???!!! Can you show me??? because my family went out the door when I was about 7 or 17. A real family does not threaten their daughter, put her down in front of people every chance they get, nor treat her partner like dirt. And YES, this was done with EVERY boyfriend I ever had, then Scott & now Steve. They help, help, help... and I have to hear about how they do NOTHING!!! They are not with me to be a personal slave to my family. However, I always found it VERY interesting that ALL of the guys in my life would jump & help my mom when she asked, maybe it's because she said thank you!... amazing, show someone some kindness & they might want to be with you or do things for you! But when they work on trucks, do glass work or major brake jobs on trucks, unload feed & hay, fix sewer pipes & electrical stuff, replace bathroom tile and spend all weekend helping fixing up the house to sell it, help hang gates & do fence work... then hear that they NEVER do anything for your parents... why would they EVER want to do anything EVER again???!!!

Rainy Day...

I am lovin' the rain! We desperately need it in our part of Central Texas. Of coarse, you have to deal with being sleepy but it's great to see the rain. I would love to have a tall coffee about now.

It is difficult driving in the rain without a/c. I am running my defroster on the mirrors & back window but it's not enough. The waiting period to use my new warranty policy is up today but I have to have the $100 for the deductible. With all the repairs lately, that will not come soon.

Thankful for Friends...

My longtime Houston friend, Kimberly, posted the following on her Facebook...
What's sad is that when someone dies everyone will write or "blog" about that person.. never thinking that it might be better to say something to that person before they pass... So.. if anyone out there wants to know what I think or feel about them just ask... I would rather you know now when your here than to have never have heard it at all...
So I asked her... Wonder what you would say about me?
Her response was... I think that you have a good outlook on life and you do not play the victim. I believe that you are a good person and you are a true believer in God. I know that you were a good wife and a good step-mother and that the two people in your life you trusted were not so nice to you. I think that God has a special need for you and that you will always ... Read More, seek Him out in your times of trouble. You were a good friend to me and always had a shoulder for me when I needed someone to talk to. You kept me going when I needed a friend when we got the kids and you helped me see that they needed a "mom" not a step-mom. You are a forgiving person and will be the one to turn the other cheek and pray for someone who has wronged you. You do not judge anyone and you are the first to help the troubled or the weak and you will give your all to something you believe in.
Now this is all I remembered about you from years ago but I believe that you are still the same person from before.

I'm thankful for Good Friends & that someone had a nice word to say to me today!

Lovin' the Rain...

It has actually rained for a few days now & not been in the 100's. I'm dealing with the rain pretty well for not having a/c in the car still. The cooler temperatures are definitely helping! I should be getting it fixed in about 2 weeks, but will just need the $100 deductible to be able to put it in the shop.

Car Trouble AGAIN...

My warning lights started coming on inside on Sunday afternoon. I took the van on Monday, which was Labor Day, to have the battery & alternator tested. I do believe that the testers at the auto parts stores are worthless. They said they were both fine! Tuesday after all the drama at our house in the AM, leaving the van to have the oil changed & tires rotated while we went to a funeral... I went to work for a little bit & on the way home, stopped at the repair shop for them to look at it. It was the alternator (AGAIN!). I had to leave it for a couple of days. Never, ever buy an alternator from Advanced Auto Parts - the one I got here a couple of months ago was bad. I had to pay another $300+ but it's running lots better! (still no a/c yet)

Don't Join Them, Beat Them...

I saw this & thought I would share it... Some people say "If you can't beat them, join them". I say "If you can't beat them, beat them", because they will be expecting you to join them, so you will have the element of surprise.

Standards...

I know that we are living in the last days. At times, it is hard to live 'apart' from the world & not be 'of' the world. However, there is a reason I was raised with the standards I was raised with by my parents. The Bible says... "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14 Therefore if I do not keep my holiness standards, I will not see God. I cannot compromise my witness because I do not want to hear strong preaching or live a strict life.

The word of God is the same yesterday, today & forever! If the standards were there 20-40 years ago, they should be there today. In my opinion, Pentecostals have been persecuted a long time for their standards. However, they were present in the Bible so they have been around for a LONG time. Many people think we are being judgemental because we will not compromise. Call us judgemental if you want, but we follow the Word! It's about what God says, not what man says. Try turning off your TV for just one evening & reading your Bible - it doesn't matter where you start, just let it fall open. I believe you will be touched & want more and more.

Facebook...

Have you checked out facebook.com? It's the new thing to stay in touch! I would probably see you & chat with you more if you were there. Give it a try... it's not hard & you don't have to check several times a day but many do... LOL. Just try it & you might like it... you will also find me there!
